"Evasive Maneuvers" is a team-based, online multiplayer, spaceship arena game where up to twelve players face off in a sci-fi game of cat and mouse.

Players take on the role of spaceship pilots as they join either the Hunters or Runners. The Hunter team attempts to prevent Runners from activating the arena's warp gate and escaping through it. Each team has a variety of abilities they can use in combination with skillful flying to complete their respective goal. Players can fly across many unique arenas, each with their own theme and strategies.

UI Design

As the user interface designer, I developed intuitive and aesthetically pleasing interfaces that enhance the player's experience throughout their gameplay.

I started with simple layouts free from styling elements to test functionality and the navigation hierarchy. After finalizing the navigation and general layout, I created higher fidelity designs to visually represent the final pages. Once those were defined, I updated the pages in the game engine with their final graphics.

The game's menu gives players the ability to make changes through the settings page, to join an existing server, as well as create their own server. Players can also customize their own ships, one for each faction: Hunters and Runners.

Once a player has joined a server's lobby, they can choose to join either the Hunters or Runners, which will change the abilities available to them, or they may choose to be a Spectator, at which point they will be able to explore the arena while the game plays on.

While in-game, players may open a menu allowing them to access the Settings page, leave the game, or simply view the current game's information, the list of current players, the server name, and more.

 

The player's in-game interface will differ from other players depending on the team they chose to join as well as which ability they chose to use.

In my marketing role, I was part of the logo design process. The logo's goal was to show the game's futuristic setting and fast-paced gameplay.

 

Using the logo as a base, I created a branding image that could be adapted to a variety of promotional graphics including storefront banners, posters, and social media posts.

I managed a social media campaign promoting the game's development and its eventual release. This was achieved through consistent social media posting and community engagement across various platforms including Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and Discord.​
