"The Blobs Fight" is a silly, local multiplayer, arena party game where up to eight players play in free-for-alls, teams, and anything in between.

Players take on the role of a blob in light-hearted combat against other players. By knocking pieces off blobs and collecting them, your blob gets bigger. The bigger the blob, the more damage you can endure, but the slower you move. Play across a variety of game modes in nine unique arenas.

UI Design

As the user interface designer, I developed intuitive and aesthetically pleasing interfaces that enhance the player's experience throughout their gameplay.

I started with paper sketches for layout and styling concepts. From there, I created higher fidelity digital images to also test the navigation hierarchy. After finalizing the navigation and layout, I worked in the game engine to implement functional pages while adding final artwork.

The game's menu was designed to allow players to quickly jump into a game of their design through the Rules page that allows players to choose one of the game modes with default settings. Should a player wish to customize the game mode or even additional settings, including player speed, etc., they simply have to edit the predefined settings. These can always be reset.

While in-game, players gain a numbered icon above their blob to better differentiate themselves from the other players, especially in cases where multiple players are the same colours and have equiped the same costume pieces.

3D Models

As one of the 3D modelers, I created models that bring the game world to life, ensuring the environment and the character customization options resonate with players.

I created a variety of costume pieces that players could use in any combination to create their customized blob. These pieces included a top piece (hats, hair, etc.), an eye piece (eye patch, goggles, etc.), a mouth piece (mustache, bandana, etc.), and a miscellaneous piece (sword, raygun, etc.).

I also modeled a few of the game arenas based on concept art. These arenas included the factory, laser, bull, moon, and skate park arenas.

Marketing

In my marketing role, I created a branding image that fit the game's family-friendly and fast-paced gameplay through colourful and cartoon-styled artwork. This imaging was adapted to a variety of promotional graphics including storefront banners, posters, and social media posts.

I managed a social media campaign promoting the game's development and its eventual release. This was achieved through consistent social media posting and community engagement across various platforms including Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and Discord.

I also coordinated with events and conventions to ensure that the game could be seen and played by the public to build interest and anticipation in the game's release and beyond. This directly contributed positively to a growing social media following, consistent wishlist additions on Steam, as well as sales on Steam and Xbox upon the game's release.
